Huck ch.1-4

In chapters one through four, Huck runs away from Douglas, a lady that has basically took custody of Huck and takes care of him like it is her own son. But Huck didn't want to be there one day because he wanted to go out and do his own thing and being the kind of person he is he left the house and went looking for an adventure. But once he came back things went back to normal and Dougless reassured him that he is wanted in her house.
Later on Tom comes along and the two of them make their first trip out into the woods where they meet Jim; what they think was a runaway slave. And as this is all going on Huck and his group of friends make a club as I would call it and they named themselves The band of robbers.
Tom seems to me like he is an instigator to Huck because since Huck thinks that Tom is smart, and I'm not saying that he isn't, but Huck listens to everything that he says and its not all true or logical. Huck shows that he wants to be smart and know things by saying that he likes going to school and he has already been taught by Dougless how to write. But in my eyes if he was smart then he would realize that Tom is not the brightest color in the crayon box.
Another thing that I was kind of confused with was about religion. Huck says that he does not believe in God but yet he goes to Sunday school. I'm not sure if he does believe in God and just does not like to tell people because it might not seem cool to him or if he only goes to Sunday school because Dougless makes him and he listens to what she says.
